We had a great day on August 1 at
Wisconsin Humane Society,
Kicking off the
#ASPCA100K4WHS Challenge!
Please continue to support WHS with your donations,
adoptions, and
by tweeting the #ASPCA100K4WHS hashtag on Twitter each day!
From the
Wisconsin Humane Society blog:
Wow! We placed 86 animals in new homes yesterday and helped over 150 clients!
Droves of adopters turned out for the ASPCA 100K Challenge Kickoff and over a
hundred dogs enjoyed bobbing for hot dogs, a bone dig, agility and Pupcasso Paw
Paintings.
As Ellen Clark of WHS said, "This was such an extraordinary group effort that
everyone should feel proud. Thank you for the hard work and dedication. This was
a great way to kick off the ASPCA Challenge!"
We thank UNITS Milwaukee for the use of a UNIT during the event to collect
donations! Remember, WHS continues to collect your
wish list
donations for the shelter; drop them off during regular hours!
We also thank Streetza Pizza, who brought delicious pizza and donated $1 of every slice to the Wisconsin Humane Society!
The Goals of the ASCPA 1000K Challenge:
To save more dogs' & cats' lives
August through October 2010 than last year.
To be considered for the ASPCA's $100,000 Grand Prize, WHS must save at least 300 more cats and dogs
during that three month period than we did in the same months of 2009. The shelter that saves the most additional dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens (that is, beyond the qualifying 300 animals) in the period will win the grand prize.
To increase public support for WHS's work so we can continue saving
more lives next year and for years to come.
The ASPCA's Community Engagement Award – a $25,000 grant
– will go to the challenge finalist who meets the minimum of saving 300 more
lives and does the best job of getting their community involved in saving more
lives during the challenge.
