The TweetUp Girls held their first event on April 7 0f 2009. Since then it has been a whirlwind of events and great business networking.  We have been so fortunate to have the support of the community and our goal is always to host a great event at a cool location, with delicious food, and intelligent business people.

Host: Iron Horse Hotel, TweetUp Girls
Sponsors: Meet Meme, First Edge Solutions
Promoter: TweetUp Girls
Venue: Iron Horse Hotel, Milwaukee

A beautiful antique sleigh parked in the lobby area of the Iron Horse Hotel served as the collection point for generous Toys for Tots gift donations by event attendees. Participants received a complimentary "thank you" drink as they socialized and networked, enjoying assorted sliders and other hors d'oeuvres sponsored by Meet Meme and First Edge Solutions. With a Meet Meme rep on hand, attendees were also able to see "demos" of their unique interactive social media trading cards. Thank you to our co-host, the Iron Horse Hotel, and sponsors Meet Meme & First Edge, to all those who brought a gift for a child and made the holidays happier, and to the Marine representatives whom we thank not only for their participation at the collection event, but also their service.

Blackline Limos #TravelingTweetup
November 10, 2010
Host: Blackline Limos, TweetUp Girls
Sponsors: Rustico Pizzeria, Stubby's Pub & Grub, Mindspike Design
Promoter: TweetUp Girls
Venue: On board Blackline Limo buses, and at sponsor locations

The first #TravelingTweetup in Milwaukee was conceived by the Tweetup Girls to introduce Blackline Limos to the local Twitter community in a fun way while providing a truly unique networking opportunity for all attendees!

The evening began at Mindspike Design in the Third Ward with a social hour before the attendees rode in style in two deluxe Blackline Limo Buses to our first stop at Stubby’s Pub & Grub, offering an amazing sampling inspired by the travels of a culinary pilgrim. We then climbed aboard the spacious and comfortable limos to relax and ride to our next destination, Rustico Pizzeria, where we sampled traditional and delicious Italian fare inspired by the country cooking of northern regions such as Piemonte, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, and Les Marches. We'll wrapped up the night with a limo ride back to our departure point!

The limos were top rate, beautiful inside and out, with leather banquette seating, cool running lights, great sound systems, and wonderful stocked bars, as well as professional, fun, and courteous drivers. Talk about traveling in style!

Hosts and sponsors personally invited a portion of the evening guests, with the remaining seats being won by tweeps in a series of random drawings leading up to the event. We couldn't have wished for a better group for this inaugural #TravelingTweetup - we hope there will be more in the future!

Wisconsin Humane Society TweetUp
August 1, 2010
Host: Wisconsin Humane Society, TweetUp Girls
Sponsors: Units Milwaukee, Streetza Pizza
Promoter: TweetUp Girls
Venue: Wisconsin Humane Society

We kicked off the #ASPCA100K4WHS Challenge with the Wisconsin Humane Society at their Adopt-a-thon. Attendees enjoyed interactive games for dogs, raffles, and tons of fun for the entire family at the WHS TweetUp, all while helping WHS in its efforts to save more lives and win the ASCPA 100K Challenge!

A scavenger hunt led to some great prizes for attendees who posted pictures and tweets from the event on Twitter and Facebook, marked with the #ASPCA100K4WHS hashtag.

Wish list donations for the shelter were collected in the UNITS Milwaukee UNIT parked at WHS, and Streetza Pizza was on location, donating $1 of every slice pizza purchased being to the Wisconsin Humane Society.

The goals of the ASPCA Challenge:
To save more dogs' & cats' lives August through October 2010 than last year; and to increase public support for WHS's work so we can continue saving more lives next year and for years to come.

Crowne Plaza TweetUp
June 3, 2010
Host: Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport
Sponsors: Dynamismo Special Events, First Priority Printing
Promoter: TweetUp Girls
Venue: Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport

Milwaukee area businesspeople turned out for networking in the Crowne Plaza's fantastically redesigned spaces - we all felt like we'd been transported into a hip New York boutique hotel! We all made connections while sampling some of the hotel's finest food...

And the food - oh, the food! If you were there, you know there was almost too much deliciousness to even describe! Some of the highlights were a fondue station, including crème brûlée which was a favorite of many, a sushi bar, chef-carved beef, oyster shooters, a beautiful cheese spread, trays of excellent appetizers (Kobe Beef Sliders were so good), shrimp cocktail, and on and on.

Five lucky casino table games from Dynamismo were running during the TweetUp for our gambling enjoyment! Attendees who tweeted about the event received $10,000 in complimentary playing chips to play Blackjack, Poker and Roulette. Anyone who's chatted it up at a casino table knows what a great networking environment it is, and much fun was had while building those connections!

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was at the event, interviewing attendees for an article on college graduates who are choosing (or not choosing) to settle in Milwaukee. You can hear from a number of TweetUp attendees through their audio clips at the link below...

DiGiorno Pizza challenged Twitter communities across the U.S. to tell them who wanted a DiGiorno Pizza Tweetup in their city THE MOST... The votes were tallied and #MilwaukeeWI won! On October 22, 2009, DiGiorno Pizza rewarded our efforts ;)

70 pizzas eaten + big barrel of food donations collected + good time had by all = A very successful DiGiorno Pizza Tweetup!

Thanks to DiGiorno for the delicious Crispy Flatbread Pizza, to all the Milwaukee attendees for turning out, to Stack'd Bar for being a great venue, and to Feeding America and Jon Kurozawa for working with us on the food drive efforts! Attendees brought non-perishable food donations and filled a big barrel for Feeding America. Thanks everyone for your generosity!
